Coyotes, foxes, and other animals are being mercilessly hunted down in "contests" where the goal is simply to kill as many animals as possible. This is the dark reality of “wildlife killing contests” happening legally across the U.S.
Innocent animals are lured with bait or distress calls, only to be shot down by cruel hunters. Wounded animals who aren’t immediately killed are left to suffer and die slow, painful deaths.
Mother coyotes are often the targets of these contests, leaving their orphaned pups to freeze or die of starvation.
While 10 states have outlawed these barbaric events, they continue across the rest of the country, killing an estimated 60,000 animals each year.
The Prohibit Wildlife Killing Contests Act, H.R. 8492, was introduced by Congressman Steve Cohen and 16 cosponsors in 2024. This bill, if passed, could ban wildlife killing contests on public lands across the U.S.
Will you speak up for coyotes, foxes, and other innocent animals?
Thank you for standing up for animals!
You can help us defend all animals from suffering, and support our mission: to end the number 1 cause of suffering and death for dogs and cats – overpopulation – by developing a permanent-lasting birth control cookie that will only need to be eaten one time, and it will in effect spay or neuter – without surgery.
