Need some good news today? Here are three positive stories about animals from around the world!
Waylon, a stray dog, followed a dog named Motley to a doggy day care bus stop, but he wasn't allowed on because they didn't know if he had been vaccinated against rabies and other diseases. [1]
He chased the bus down the road, determined to join his friend.
His photo was shared on Facebook, but no guardian came forward.
Eventually, a guardian of a dog already on the bus offered to adopt Waylon, and now he happily rides the bus with his new sister!
Under the “Seniors Helping Seniors” initiative, senior citizens are helping senior animals from local rescues find loving homes.
Residents of Waltonwood senior living communities in several locations hosted events throughout August to actively support senior companion animals. Alongside the Clear the Shelters campaign, Waltonwood also covered adoption fees to encourage adoptions! [2]
Matt Ramsey, a hotel worker, unexpectedly encountered a frightened kitten crying for help in the parking lot during his late-night shift. [3]
Despite his inexperience with cats, Ramsey earned the kitten's trust, and she became attached to him, climbing on him and refusing to be left behind.
“She was only content when she was on my shoulder or my chest,” Ramsey said. “If I moved her, she would scream and then climb right back up." [3]
After trying unsuccessfully to find someone else to take the kitten, Ramsey decided to adopt her!
Kittens and puppies should not have to cling to strangers and beg for a safe home.
Our mission is to end the number 1 cause of suffering and death for dogs and cats — overpopulation — by developing a permanent-lasting birth control cookie that will only need to be eaten one time, and it will in effect spay or neuter — without surgery.
You have the power to make a difference for animals now ... for as little as $5 a month!
We can never thank you enough for caring!
