Killed with scissors: man brutally murders 76 cats

Updated: Aug 1

A man in South Korea brutally killed 76 cats in “one of the country's most gruesome cases of animal cruelty in recent years.” [1]

The man “caught stray cats and adopted others from online sites before strangling some to death and killing others with scissors,” according to AP News. [1]

According to a court verdict, the man went on the killing spree due to his “deep hatred of the animal that he began harboring after other cats scratched his car.” [1]

He was sentenced to only 14 months in prison. However, it’s rare that animal abusers are ever given prison sentences.

Horrible incidents like these demonstrate just how vulnerable stray animals are to random attacks. What can be done to help?

Far too many stray animals are born into a life where all they know is suffering. Many dogs and cats become the victims of intentional abuse.

That’s why our mission is to end the number 1 cause of suffering and death for dogs and cats -- overpopulation -- by developing a permanent-lasting birth control cookie that will only need to be eaten one time, and it will in effect spay or neuter -- without surgery.

Even the smallest gift can have the biggest impact. Donate $5 a month and be a part of the change.

Together, we will save animals from needless suffering.
