Her dog wouldn’t let her sleep. Here’s why ...

dog, happy dog
The love dogs have for their human families: wonderful and sometimes even life-saving!

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the constant news of animals suffering, but not every story is filled with sorrow.

Today, we share a heartwarming story that highlights why we continue to fight for their future.

Samantha Griffin adopted her dog, Luna, for emotional support. But she never imagined Luna would quite literally save her life, too!

Samantha felt a migraine coming on and lay down to sleep, but says Luna "started pouncing on me — I think I still have bruises from where she's hit me – and she scratched up my door and stuff like that, trying to get out ... "

dog smell, dog
Dogs share the same five senses as humans, but their sense of smell is far superior!

Unknown to Samantha, her apartment was filled with deadly carbon monoxide at 97 parts per million — a level that could have become fatal.

Luna's frantic behavior alerted Samantha to the danger before the alarm could.

"I'm just so overwhelmed, grateful for all of it. Because I don't know where I'd be right now without her," Samantha said.

Thanks to Luna's quick action, Samantha and Luna escaped this deadly danger!

We hope this good news story brightened your day!

Betty, a Pilot Pup rescued by 600MillionDogs!

We continue to work hard to end the number one cause of suffering and death for dogs and cats — overpopulation — by developing a permanent-lasting birth control cookie that will only need to be eaten one time, effectively spaying or neutering without surgery.

We are a small, grassroots nonprofit carrying out work that pharmaceutical companies should be doing — but they refuse.

We are dedicated to ending this global problem, and a gift of any amount will help. Support our cruelty-free studies and clinical research that saves animals and people at the same time!

You have the power to make a difference for animals now ... for as little as $5 a month!
