Rare victory for animals: a man in South Korea was jailed for shooting a stray dog with an arrow!
The sickening incident made headlines when the severely injured dog was found roaming the streets with an arrow lodged into his spine in 2022.
“During their investigation, authorities discovered that the man bought 20 arrows online in August 2021,” according to Yahoo News. [1] The man accused the dog of killing his chickens, and claimed that he didn’t think the arrows would actually hit the dog.
It’s rare for animal abusers to be punished. But in March of 2024, the man was sentenced to 10 months in prison.
The dog was rescued and given the name Cheonji. He was adopted by an American woman, and was brought to his new life in New York. [2]
The tragic reality is that stray animals are vulnerable to attacks like these. Without the safety of a home and the care of a guardian, stray animals roam the streets and fall victim to intentional cruelty.
Our mission is to end the number 1 cause of suffering and death for dogs and cats -- overpopulation -- by developing a permanent-lasting birth control cookie that will only need to be eaten one time, and it will in effect spay or neuter -- without surgery.
The good news is that each of us can pitch in and help animals now for only $1 a month!
Thanks so much for caring about animals!
